What is the Key to Cybersecurity? Is it Technology or Legislation

Recent cyberattacks in 2023 on major organizations like BBC, British Airways and others underscore the vulnerability inherent even in well-protected IT systems. Government institutions holding sensitive data are at risk.

This brings us to the question: What is a better solution, advanced security technology or enhanced legislation?

Large organizations face cyber threats due to weak links in their supply chains. Legislation alone cannot deter cybercrime driven by advanced technologies such as AI and automation. To fight back, we must employ the same technology as cybercriminals.

Both private and public enterprises are at risk. Improved cybersecurity requires innovation. Automation, cryptography, and AI should be used for proactive defence against attacks. Investing in new IT technology is crucial.

Current legislation is insufficient. We must develop advanced tools and services to counter cyber threats. Without effective tech solutions, the score will remain 5-0 in favour of cyber criminals.

Let’s invest in innovative technology and change the narrative of cybercrime victims. This will be one of the main topics of The Socio-Economic Viability Project Global Conference, which will take place on October 30 and 31 at the Grand Hyatt Dubai, in collaboration with UNIFIN ApS.

This event will convene IT experts, investors, entrepreneurs, innovators, and governmental leaders to discuss transformative strategies for the global economy and sustainable advancement.

The Socio-Economic Viability Project actively seeks collaboration across diverse stakeholders — from AI developers and academics to government bodies and community organizations — focusing on Cybersecurity and AI regulation.

UNIFIN ApS CEO, Volodymyr LAIEVSKII, notes, “The Viability Project’s expansive vision demands vast resources. It will draw participation across the spectrum: from budding Junior programmers to top-tier IT corporations with impressive teams. Crafting these integrative solutions will propel both technological potential and human quality of life.”
